In the foreground;  Pteranodon sternbergi  -  39" wingspan x 16" long  -  Fabricated Metal Sculpture, mild steel, Bronze and Copper.  Every major bone in the body is represented  The wing membranes are cutout of flat copper sheet and hammer formed into the beautiful airfoil shapes seen here.  My signature and the year is engraved on the underside of copper membrane.  This is a very intricate and sophisticated piece of metal work.  I have been building one of a kind  fabricated pieces like this since 1979, many with this unique style showing both skeletal elements and the external shape of the living creature.  

The type specimine discovered in the chalk beds in Western Kansas in the 1880s, now on display in The Sternberg Museum in Hays, KS.  Commissions accepted for any  Wildlife or Paleo-Wildlife subjects.  Can I build something cool for You?
